ABEA Leaders in Literacy Awards – Nominations Open!

The ABEA presents the annual Leaders in Literacy Awards at our annual Leaders in Literacy Breakfast in June.  This year’s event is scheduled for June 11, 2020.  We have cancelled the in-person event but will be hosting an online meeting.

Nominations are now open until April 30th.  Please see the Awards page for more details and for the nomination form.

The Kim Brooks Memorial Lifelong Learning Award – This award is in memory of an outstanding supporter of lifelong learning and a friend of ABEA.  This award is open to anyone 18 years and older, living in the city of Hamilton, or to any agency/business working within Hamilton, who has a long and outstanding commitment to lifelong learning.

The Hamilton Spectator Adult Learner Literacy Award – This award celebrates the achievements of adult learners who exemplify the spirit of lifelong learning.

The Excellence in Adult Teaching Award – This award is given in recognition of outstanding commitment and dedication by a paid teacher/instructor in the field of adult literacy and basic education within Hamilton.

The CIBC World Markets Children’s Foundation Individual Early Literacy Education Award – This award was established in 2006 to recognize excellence by an individual involved in early literacy education (ages 0-6).

The Agency Early Literacy Education Award – This award was established in 2006 to recognize excellence by an agency involved in early literacy education (ages 0-6).
